Lancashire Archives online catalogue (LANCAT) holds descriptions of over 1.5 million documents housed in their collection. The collection spans from the 12th century to present day. Records come from a variety of sources including local government, churches, schools, businesses, and societies.

Some of the databases that can be searched include their Red Rose collection, which comprise historic photos of Lancashire, and their police records that include lists of Lancashire police officers.
