First published in December 1909, the journal wanted “to help the young folk of Scottish parentage to better understand the history, literature and songs of the land of their forefathers”. The journals have articles on a wide range of topics relating to Scotland – articles on well known Scots in Australasia, Home News, missing friends, "personal paragraphs", obituaries, the clans, and much more.

THE LATE MR WILLIAM WALKER
An interesting personality in Mr. William Walker succumbed to an attack of pneumonia on February 12th. Born in Sydney in 1841, Mr. Walker spent nearly all his days in his native place, the only exception being 18 years at Singleton. Gifted with a singularly retentive memory, he could recount many interesting incidents of the pioneering days of Sydney. He was present on the occasion of the running of the first train between Sydney and Parramatta, and remembered the time when cattle could be lost in the scrub beyond St. Mary’s Cathedral. He always took a keen interest in public matters, and was intimate with the political giants of the old days.
