Munster encompasses six counties: Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, and Waterford. The breakdown of names per county is shown below:
- Clare: 8,500 names
- Cork city and county: 47,000 names
- Kerry: 10,500 names
- Limerick city and county: 17,000 names
- Tipperary: 17,500 names
- Waterford city and county: 9,500 names
The book is divided into sections for each of the six counties in the province. Each section provides a history and topography of the area and lists the county’s administrative officers, judges, police, lawyers, and court officials. Also included are lists of doctors, teachers and schools, staff working in the county and city establishments, the poor law unions, and the various churches and religious bodies of the area. Additionally, a full postal and trade directory is provided for each village or town in the county. The three provincial cities of Cork, Limerick and Waterford also include the same degree of detailed information.
