If you've forgotten or lost your Findmypast password, you can reset it by following these simple steps;

1. Visit the password reset page
2. Enter the email address you use to log in to Findmypast and select the ‘Submit’ button
3. Check your inbox - an email with a password reset link will be sent
4. Follow the link in the email to a page where you will be able to choose a new password
5. Enter and confirm your new password and select ‘Reset Password’
6. Remember your new password - you'll need it the next time you sign in

Tips for choosing a secure password

• Choose a password that is both memorable and secure
• For extra security, use a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols and choose a password that is between six and twelve characters in length
• Never use passwords that are easy to guess like ‘password1’, your name or date of birth
