Records in this collection

School records can be an extremely rich source of information for genealogy research and add colour to the life of your ancestor with the details that they provide.

As you might expect, a school record will indicate full names, dates of birth and ages of the children registered. They may also contain details about the parents, including names, address and occupation.

Schools will often have kept more details on their pupils, which may lead you to discover how teachers viewed your ancestor's character, grades that they achieved and even, details of any detentions that they may have been given.
