Nuneaton & North Warwickshire Family History Society

We are pleased to be working in partnership with the Nuneaton & North Warwickshire Family History Society.

The NNWFHS started life as the Nuneaton Family History Group. Because of our rapidly increasing membership and the family interests that many of our members have in North Warwickshire, we expanded our working area and changed our name to reflect this.

We hold monthly meetings at Nuneaton library and monthly family history sessions at Atherstone library. We organise workshops, slide shows, talks by family and local historians on a variety of subjects, visits to local and national record repositories and local places of interest and other events throughout the year. We exhibit at family history fairs and other 'heritage' events.

National Burial Index for England & Wales

The Nuneaton & North Warwickshire Family History Society have contributed to the National Burial Index. This collection allows you to delve into more than 12 million burial record for England and Wales to help you uncover your ancestor's burial place, year of death and religious denomination.

Additional information from the society

The society is also actively transcribing, compiling databases, and publishing indexes for a wide variety of local genealogical records.

We have a growing number of members from all over the world as well as the far corners of the UK. We appreciate the difficulties experienced by our 'far flung' members and help to make them feel part of the society through our website, quarterly journal, personal correspondence, and telephone and email helplines.

We welcome all levels of interest. If you are starting out, we can set you on the right path and show you how and where to access the records you need. If you are stuck, we can show you where to go next. We can also help you to find other people who share your surname interests.

NNWFHS is a member of the Federation of Family History Societies.
