Discover more about your Confederate veteran ancestors with images of applications for pensions filed by Confederate veterans and their widows living in the state of Florida. Requests for pensions were administered in the state where the veteran or his widow lived at the time of the application, which was quite often not the state in which that soldier had enlisted or served. Florida first started granting Confederate veterans pensions in 1885. In 1889, pensions were expanded to include the widows of veterans. This collection has been provided by FamilySearch.
