West Middlesex Family History Society

West Middlesex Family History Society was formed in 1978 to cover family history interests in the county of Middlesex, in the area of London west from Kensington to Uxbridge and south to Shepperton, and has a membership of some 600.

The Society holds regular monthly meetings at Hounslow, at which members can hear a variety of speakers, seek advice, and meet like-minded people. They also provide an opportunity to view the collection of research material, parish record indexes, CDs and microfiche.

The Society’s “Journal”, published quarterly, has articles on family history research in the area; on record sources and research methods; and on local history. It also includes details of Society meetings, projects and services, local and national family history news, with a useful ‘Help!’ section for those seeking assistance. The surname interests section for new members is also a regular feature. Similar information can be found on the website, including details of local publications of parish records, projects and how to join the society.

West Middlesex FHS is a registered charity (no 291906) and is a member of the Federation of Family History Societies.
