About these records

Directories first appeared in the late 18th century. They include a wide variety of information on all walks of life from professionals and tradesmen to scholars. We have the most comprehensive collection of Irish National Directories, including those by Pigot, Slater and Thom, which list principal office holders, gentry, professionals, tradesmen, hotels, schools, public institutions, churches and even pubs for each town.

Findmypast Ireland also features comprehensive directories from the four provinces of Connaught, Leinster, Munster and Ulster as well as local directories featuring details of smaller villages and towns in Ireland.
