These records were transcribed from the original marriage records by the Calderdale Family History Society, which was formed in 1985.

The marriage records come from two parish churches: In Sowerby Bridge, from the Anglican Christ Church and in Illingworth, from St Mary’s church. Sowerby Bridge and Illingworth are both market towns located in West Yorkshire that have been incorporated into the Calderdale district.
